Nick Lesley is a musician, media artist, and art professional from San Diego. He received his BA from UCSD with a major in Media Art and a minor in Music Technology. After a stint in the Bay Area, he moved to New York where he received his MFA in Performance and Interactive Media Arts from Brooklyn College, CUNY. During his 10 years in NY, Nick performed music frequently, and worked at various cultural organizations, including 8 years at Electronic Arts Intermix. As Distribution Manager at Electronic Arts Intermix, Nick worked closely with artists and art institutions to present video, sound, and other media works appropriately, in ways that preserved the integrity of the work. He advised extensively on the installation of the exhibition Circa 1971 at Dia Beacon, and curated an exhibition of video art for Lothringer13, in Munich, Germany. Since returning to San Diego, Nick has worked as an Event Manager for the UCSD Music Department, Production Manager for San Diego Art Institute, and Promotions Specialist for the UCSD Visual Arts Department. He’s worked to produce panel discussions, screenings, and countless performances to engage artists, musicians, dancers, and the community. His video work has been included in several group exhibitions and he regularly performs in the groups Necking and Die Mißbildungen des Menschen, and solo as Seriously Warchild or Nick Lesley.
